For our client, it meant embarking on a multi-year program to migrate away from a legacy on-premise data warehouse onto a cloud-hosted large data environment, supported by new toolsets for data operations, data visualizations, data governance, and AI.

THE SOLUTION

Dura Digital was engaged in the final stage of the client’s data migration and supported the transition to operations. 

Given the company's multi-tiered organizational structure, it was essential to handle all final aspects of the migration with expertise and effective communication with all parties involved. This ensured that all areas of the business were considered and guided through the migration and transition process with ease.  To do this, we: 

• Provided direct program management and strategic advisory to ensure a smooth transition, leveraging their expertise in data migration and strategic planning 
• Ensure all of the organization’s business units were empowered to take full advantage of the new platform’s capabilities, experiment, and continue the innovative momentum triggered by the multi-year program.
• Collaborated closely with the client to identify potential issues and develop a comprehensive transition plan that aligned with strategic objectives. 
• Reviewed all processes and supporting documentation while carrying out a series of interviews with representatives from each business unit to ensure acceptance and comfort with the new ways of working. 
• Facilitated planning sessions for the upcoming fiscal year, to ensure the stabilization of the new data platform as well as position the client to fully benefit from their investment.  Strategic priorities included supporting data amplification strategy, improving data governance, and positioning the organization to pursue impactful AI use cases.

THE RESULTS

Dura Digital successfully supported the transition to operations and implemented a long-term plan for the ongoing support of the core processes, strategic planning to support data amplification and ongoing transfer and decommissioning of the legacy data systems.
