Kyle Myck recently joined the Dura Digital team with a lot to offer our clients. Kyle first established his passion for process improvement outside of technology, helping manage the production operations for a Canadian lumber facility in his late teens. That passion for process and his curiosity for exploring as many industries as possible led Kyle to dive into technology studies at NAIT, in northern Alberta, Canada. Kyle’s constant pursuit of learning drove him to then gain numerous certifications related to Design Thinking, the Internet of Things (IoT) and Agile methodologies. His journey from the lumber industry to technology isn’t the path most folks take, but this path has formed his unwavering optimism for how technology can benefit processes, organizations and the day-to-day human experience. Now, as a consultant with a varied technological career under his belt, he pours that passion into the strategic implementation of carefully planned processes, expanding knowledge and engaging his curiosity to the benefit of clients.  

Most recently Kyle dove head-first into leading technology operations for the large Alberta-based law firm, Field Law. Kyle’s time in the legal industry was split between ensuring effective law firm operations, executing an innovative technology roadmap and promoting technological metamorphosis in the legal industry. The legal space is changing with the times and there is a great shift in how the public at large, all potential clients, find and connect with traditional law firms. Representing themselves in this technological market, redefining legal transparency and what it means, marking new ground in communication: it’s all necessary for thriving in the future, and Kyle managed these transitions by digging into a deep understanding of exactly what services clients desired. He worked the needs of the firm, the realities of a changing market and the demands of the clients into new seamless processes.

This fluidity of thought and innate curiosity mark Kyle’s personality as much as his dedication to delivering quality and value to clients. There is a calmness about him, a sense of levelness and readiness to handle anything, and an ability to not give in to stress but rise to any occasion with sound thinking that past colleagues say gives clients peace of mind. If things appear to be on fire, he will not panic; he will instead immediately turn to experience and calm in order to douse the flames with a solution. He is the sort of capable exploratory thinker you want on your team, made additionally poignant by the fact that he truly cares about clients and delivering excellence to exceed their expectations. He won’t let go of thinking about an organization’s project, even when the engagement ends, because his human-focused approach has forged in him a genuine attachment to the people impacted by the outcomes he is a part of. His diverse experience in leading the Agile transformation of large organizations, facilitating design thinking workshops, software development and enterprise architecture, has given him solid grounding in the integration space and in facing technological challenges, but also, notably, in leading organizations through changes with an assured hand. It’s not just the solving of the problem that ignites his passion but the ability to assist the client in embracing the solution to the betterment of their work. At every stage of the process, Kyle is concerned with asking the right questions: Where do you want to be? What pain points are between you and that desired place? How do you engage with your customers? How can we help design a solution that addresses all your needs? He will dig down to the heart of what is required, define the process and will walk you through it step by step. 

In his personal time he prefers to be outdoors, soaking up nature, or reading as much as possible. The subject of much of his reading is technology, human psychology or behavioral economics. A common thread runs through much of what Kyle does in life; a thread of curiosity wound with the thread of his desire to engage personably with people and seek quality solutions.
